Experienced local artists, Marelise Mitchley and Robert Taberner’s exciting new exhibition, ‘That’s A Cool Name for an Art Show’, contrasts their unique styles. Open Wednesdays to Sundays from 30 October until 24 November 2024, this free exhibition can be viewed between 10:00am and 3:00pm at the Old Fire Station Gallery, 395 Oxley Avenue, Redcliffe. Marelise Mitchley
The colour and vibrancy of Marelise Mitchley's art reflects her love for people and nature, especially flowers. Marelise has experimented enthusiastically with various mediums including acrylics, oils and pastels. Her style lends itself to blending the capacities of oil and pastels. This exhibition showcases her work within a great variety of mediums, styles, subjects and sizes for the viewer to enjoy.
Robert Taberner
Robert Taberner's lifelong exploration of art is an organic practice-led research process — a continual
questioning with paint, with answers generally posing new questions. Robert's ‘Scanning for Life Signs’ series in this exhibition, evolved into the viewer being presented with paintings contained in solid boarders, suggesting looking through a lens or magnifier, and seeing things not always apparent to the naked eye.
