Art Kids workshop series: Moreton Bay Art Prize

Art Kids is a new exhibition-led series of children’s workshops at Pine Rivers Art Gallery!

Art Kids can expect to learn new skills, connect with their peers, explore different ways of art-making, and most importantly, have fun!

Each session starts with a captivating exploration of artworks, sparking discussions and igniting curiosity around specific pieces.

In this 2-part series, attendees will explore the Moreton Bay Art Prize exhibition and get creative thinking about things that are important to them. Whether it be a place, a person, a message, a character, or something else entirely.

20 July: Important places collage

Dive into the vibrant world of art as we explore how artists express the things that matter most to them. From cherished landscapes to beloved faces, this workshop invites young artists to create heartfelt homages inspired by their own special places.

Bring a reference photo or let your imagination soar as you delve into the creative process. Open-ended prompts will encourage young artists to think about how they feel, and how they can represent those feelings through artmaking.

27 July: Stenciling statement art

Every voice deserves to be heard! Join us as we empower young artists to speak their minds through art. Discover the power of text in artwork as we delve into stencilling and stamping techniques. From thought-provoking questions to bold statements, attendees will craft unique artworks that speak volumes. Whether you design your own stencil or utilize premade stamps, get ready to make a statement with your art!

Attendees are encouraged to use their finished pieces from their important places collage to continue developing.
